![]() The only downside is that, as you may know, there is that problem with some games (metroid 2 is one of them) not changing palettes automatically.
Brunni, have you tried checking for new CRC per frame? I don't know if doing so would be too much resource intensive... maybe it could be done so the colorization creator chooses the frequency of the check, like for example adding a line in the palette ini file? CRCCheckFrequency=0 ---> checks on vblank, as normal CRCCheckFrequency=1 ---> checks every frame CRCCheckFrequency=2 ---> checks every 2 frames etc... |

Metroid 2 in B&W has some lisibility issues. The color seems to help a lot ! |

![]() Yup, Metroid 2 is unfortunately not colorizable this way as it fades to the black (and does not use blanking). I could add a flag to do that, tough the system was made for platforms where the resources available are limited. It could at least be used on the PC version.
I remember that I once thought about it, since setting the palette to a mapping that means all black/grey/white basically means blanking, but I think Metroid 2 is a bit more complex than that. And I didn't want to change much the system from the original PSP version, since I'm not able to update the application anymore. Sorry! Anyway very nice colorization, I played a bit with it yesterday ! ![]() |
